6:30 came early so I got up and it was raining out, I got dad and Randy up so we could get ready for the digs for the day. At 7:30 AM we all headed for the All American Café for some grub and Java. When we all finished eating we sat for a spell for it was still raining and some of the others showed up for the day’s digs. First we headed to see if Geode Hollow in MO was still open. After we found the place and seen it was closed we went to a business to ask about the place and was told that the owner got a divorce and closed it down. So we where trying to decide where to go next and headed for Hamilton to the city park to see how high the water in the creek was. As it turned out it was too high to collect there so we decided to go to the Jacob Mine south of town.

Virgil stopped at the house and rest of us went down to the parking area to get ready for the dig. The creek we had to cross was high. Virgil came down and took Randy in the back of truck up to the mine with him. I stayed back with dad for my one knee is not 100% healed yet for a nasty fall on the ice from Ice Fishing. This was around 11:30 AM. Around 3:00 or 4:00 PM Everett showed up and we talked for a bit then he walked up to the mine to see how every one was doing. When every one came back down from the mine Virgil got a call from Mike Streeter. We decided to go out to eat and meet Mike, Chrissy, Everett and Ceclia at 7:30 PM. About 17 people showed up for the dinner and we all had a great time there.

6:30 came early so we got up to get ready for the dig at the Jacob Mine. We left for the All American Café at 7:30 AM to meet every one that was going to go to Jacobs. We had a lot of folks show up I lost count LOL. We eat and had Java till around 8:30 AM then headed for the Jacob Mine.

We got there around 9:00 AM and parked our cars and all. Virgil and another van went to check out a different creek first before coming in. Those that had 4x4’s got up the hill with no trouble and rest of us parked in the area near the creek. Every one headed up to the mine crossing creek and getting wet. The creek was not as high as it was the day before. When Virgil came in I went with him up to take some pictures of every one digging. It sure is a nice place but muddy. The mud sure does hang on to your stuff and shoes. Virgil decided to go to the other creek and look so I road back down to the van with him. Two cars came in around 4:00 PM and said it took them 5 fours to find the mine. No one in town knew where the Jacob Mine is.
