President’s Message
Thanks for reelecting me I will try and keep the club exciting for you!
We are looking for a new
newsletter editor if you are interested email or can me.
Lots of good ideas were submitted for
next year’s outings, when we get more solid dates set I will let you all know
when things will be happening. Right now we know about the gold show in May,
Nugget will be pushed back to the fourth weekend in June, It looks like Wausau
is going to South Dakota in early June and Nugget in August. We will have a
metal detecting outing in either July or September with the outing to the Athens
claim probably in Sept too. Only the gold show and nugget dates are set as of
now. May16-17 for the show and June 27 for Nugget Lake.
This summer went so fast if it hadn't
been for the outings I would have worked the whole thing away!
Some weeks all 7 days. Now summer is gone I have to get my panning tub in
the basement already had ice in it but I am trying to finish up some sand I got
from Muskellunge Park 4 years ago. It either is cloudy when I get home or I have
to bowl that night and don't have time to work it out. Plus the sun in getting
at a sharp angle and cuts into the time I have on the few sunny days.
See you at the meetings Mike Fait

Last summer’s outings were discussed Dave Ambrose showed his yooperlites and
talked about how far you need to get from the popular beaches to find any. Stay
off private property. Mike also looked and didn't find any but had fun looking.
Dave also went to South Dakota in August to work some of the claims. Said it
would have been better if he had had a truck instead of a car to reach some
sites. Thermal city was talked about and pictures were shared.
Next summer’s outings were brought up
with a possible joint outing with the Wausau Club to the Athens claim in
Michigan when they have a group dig. Lots of other possibilities were brought up
too. No dates set yet!
Donations from Wayne Ellefson sr. , Larry Bender, Mike Fait, Lisa Fait , Jeff
Hastings, John Schwingle, and Merlin Meyer, I probably missed some as I didn't
write it down at the time.

Each show will feature close to 100’ of panning troughs loaded with more than

best gold miners around. The best part – keep everything you find!
The fun doesn’t stop there – every show day wraps up with the Major Prize Raffle
where we give away around $5,000 in prizes ranging from metal detectors to
prospecting adventures. A raffle ticket is included with every paid admission,
and more are available for purchase at the prize booth. All raffle ticket
proceeds go to benefit local GPAA chapters.
Got your eye on a new piece of mining equipment? The GPAA Gold & Treasure Shows

pan, you name it. Learn everything there is to know about mining equipment
straight from the manufacturer. Plus, you’ll find some “can’t be beat” show
pricing, not available anywhere else.
