President’s Message
Next month metal detecting outing May 19
We will be meeting at the fairgrounds in
Viroqua at 10:00am. The fairgrounds are on Hwy 14/61 or Main St. near the
north end of town. Richard has lined up some new areas for us to look this
year. Bring your own lunch and drinks, and of course you metal detectors and
digging tools. If you want to participate and don't have a detector there
should be a few extras around or someone could share mine with me I also
have a real old one that im not even sure works anymore if I have to I could
try that one
On June 16 we will be making our annual trip to Nugget Lake in western
Wisconsin. The number for the park is 715-639-5611 it’s rather late to get a
camp site but you could still try. I look forward to seeing lots of you
there for the picnic and a little prospecting.
I’m also thinking of another
outing there in Sept or Oct maybe not on our normal weekend but somewhere
after the third week in Sept and before the third weekend in October. This
could cover both months. I will be in California at roaring camp the first
and second weekends of September not sure if I can turn around by the third
week and do another outing. We will have a map to Nugget next month.
The last of the snow left my yard on April 30th this year had 20 +
inches just two weeks ago.
I still could use some help at the Omni center in Onalaska on the
weekend of June2-3 to help demonstrate prospecting equipment and panning at
the Coulee Rock Clubs rock and gem show.
See you in the creeks Mike Fait
.
