Presidents Message
Hi to all hope you had a good
Thanksgiving, and that you did better hunting than I did. The weather was so so
but I always seem to pick the stand that the deer were avoiding. Saw my
first bobcat this year and a huge porcupine. I did see one small buck when I
didn't have my gun in my hand, I would not have shot it anyway too small for
what I was looking for. Had 2 doe tags might still go out muzzle loading but I
have some meat left from last year.
The
weather is still warm for this time of year and I see on the Minnesota/
Wisconsin web site that some prospectors are still at it on the good days.
Thanks
for reelecting me to another year. I am out of ideas for what to talk about at
future meetings. Your suggestions are welcome! Remember to bring a gift to
exchange next month. You don't have to but then you won't get one back either.
Regular raffles will be held; come and share a meal and companionship with
like-minded people. Pray for good weather too. If the weather gets to bad or
if a winter storm is supposed to occur on meeting days I will try and contact
you to let you know when the meeting will be cancelled either by email or
phone.
See you
at the meetings until the creeks flow again Mike Fait

Hi there Prospectors,
We had our meeting on October 21.
The name for the new club is the Wisconsin Michigan Prospectors.
We volunteered some temporary officers to serve for a couple months then have
elections. To be an officer you will need to be member of the Gold Prospectors
Association of America though you do not have to be a member of GPAA to be a
member of our Wisconsin Michigan organization.
We will need a few more officers to fill some positions so we will discuss this
in future meetings. Acting Secretary: Dan Nyman Acting Outings Coordinator: Guy
Unger Acting Michigan Representative: Phil Spooner Acting Raffle Coordinator:
Terry Knope Acting Vice President: Kevin Konshak Acting President: Ron Smith
We have be decided to associate our organization with the Gold Prospectors
Association of America. We felt that it would be a good fit for our growing
club. I will start filling out the paperwork to start the process with the GPAA
and we can be a chapter within a few months.
Officers please bring your GPAA numbers so we can fill out the paperwork.
There are no dues to become a member of Wisconsin Michigan Prospectors.
We run raffles to meet expenses, and raffles provide some of our entertainment
at the meetings. We accept
donations for raffles and door prizes.
If you have ideas for Guest Speaker/ Programs for meetings please share your
ideas the same for outings. We had
outings on October 18th and 19th, a little gold and some float copper. The
outings were at Beecher, on Marinette County Forest Rd. 403 gravel pit, lots of
fun and nice weather.
We have a meeting location for the next few months at Newinghams Supper Club at
722 Main St. Wausaukee, WI 54177.The door to the meeting room is outside the
building in the rear lower level. The next meeting will be at 5:00 PM November
11th. There will be a potluck so remember to bring something to pass.
Upcoming meeting dates: November 11th, December 9th and January 20th. The times
may be different from the November meeting because we wont have outings on
those days anyway.
See you at the meeting, Ron
