President’s Message

There will be no more indoor meetings until at least August, and probably not until September.

Next month we are going to South Dakota to the Husker claim. I have a hotel room in Sturgis at the Super 8. I would be interested in sharing a room if anyone else is interested. Or you can get your own room or camp with the rest of the diggers either on the claim for free or in Sturgis at the Days end campground and RV Park - 2501 Avalanche Road Sturgis SD. 57785  phone 605-347-2331  Contact person for the outing is Kurt Bublitz Wausau president 715-340-2831.

Then in October we will be going to the gold show in Indianapolis instead of having a meeting. Richard is looking into getting a van/bus capable of carrying up to 15 people. If you are interested in going let me know thou it is a long ways off I am trying to get an idea how many people we might have and the best way to travel. Also we would need hotel rooms for possibly two nights. Right now I’m thinking we would leave in the morning of October 21 get to the show in the afternoon for the end of the day drawings. Then return on Sunday to see the rest of the show and the Sunday drawings which have less people at them. Then either return on Monday or come back Sunday night. It is a minimum of 6.5 hrs to drive from Tomah to Indianapolis without stops. With stops ’m and a meal I’m thinking 7.5 or 8 hrs. Plus however long it takes to get from your home to the pickup point. It could be in Viroqua. That’s why I am leaning on the Monday return I would have to take a days’ vacation on Monday but I wouldn't be getting home until 2 am if we left Sunday night.

Hope to see some of you there. Mike Fait
