Welcome

The Tomah, Wisconsin GPAA Chapter newsletter is your newsletter, please let me know what you would like to see in it, we hope to bring you more information in the coming year.   I hope you enjoy the information and articles included in this newsletter.   You can receive this Newsletter by mail, by either attended a meeting, or sent a book of stamps for postage.

We are also always looking for speakers, we need to help out our great president (Mike Fait).  He has been putting the programs together with very little help.  If you have taken a trip or just have a story about somewhere, we would like to hear about it.  You do NOT need to be an expert speaker; everyone likes to hear about what other members are doing.

Do not forget the Newsletter and pictures can always be found at:

President’s Message

Hi all. finally good weather. I got my cleanup tub in the back yard and have already clean up more material than I did all winter. I bought a bag of sand from Menard not one speck of gold must be wrong kind of sand. I'm not as lucky as Tom was but then I don't know where the sand in my bag came from the parent company is from Georgia but I don't think the sand was packed there it had some limestone in it. Looked like the material you see in eastern Wisconsin or northern Illinois.

I want to say thank you to Dr. William Cordua for the fine presentation he gave on meteorites and wrongs. I hope all who were there learned something. He is a very good speaker and can identify any rocks you can show him.

This month we will be having and outing to Nugget Lake County Park. I am camping there in site # 51 Gary and Jennie are also camping there. It is probably already to0 late to get a camp site but you can try there number is 715-639-5611. There is a $5.00 entry fee per car to be paid before entering the park at the ranger station. Remember I you did in the creek no digging in the banks I get reminded of this every year when I go there.

Also there will be no meeting in July at the town hall. There will be a metal detecting hunt on July 19 instead. We will meet in the town of Ontario and Rich will lead us on the hunt.

The land we looked at for the GPAA lease was not a proved, we are still look for a lease in the state of Wisconsin.                                                        See you in the creeks Mike Fait
