Tomah Wisconsin GPAA Chapter – December, 2014

Welcome

Welcome to the 2014 GOLD FEVER Newsletter.  Another year, another gold prospecting opportunity.  If you have not tried to find gold, you need to give it a try.  Let us know if you need help to get started, there are many people with experience that the help you.

The Tomah, Wisconsin GPAA Chapter newsletter is your newsletter, please let me know what you would like to see in it, we hope to bring you more information in the coming year.   I hope you enjoy the information and articles included in this newsletter.   You can receive this Newsletter by mail, by either attended a meeting, or sent a book of stamps for postage.

We are also always looking for speakers, we need to help out our great president (Mike Fait).  He has been putting the programs together with very little help.  If you have taken a trip or just have a story about somewhere, we would like to hear about it.  You do NOT need to be an expert speaker; everyone likes to hear about what other members are doing.

Do not forget the Newsletter and pictures can always be found at:

President’s Message

I'm still deer hunting Wednesday, 4 days of hunting and have yet to see a deer.

Great meeting last month I am always interested in what people find metal detecting. What do they find is a treasure and what is junk. It changes with the detectors.  I like coins and rings. Thank you Steve Miller for showing us your finds and telling us about your trip to Virginia.

Remember to bring a dish to pass for each meeting the club will supply drinks and meat.

The club is going to do a joint outing to S. Dakota next summer the date is still to be determined.

Dec (I think on the 17th) the Weather Channel will start this seasons prospecting shows more gems from the mountains. Now all I have to do is catch up on two episodes of Gold Rush.

See you at the meetings Mike

Old Business:

The November meeting was held at the Town Hall at the Town of Lagrange, 22731 Flint Ave. on Route #21 west of Tomah Wisconsin on November 15th,, 43 members and guests attended the November meeting.

Mike Flint has resigned the position of State Director.

The speaker was Steve Miller, who spoke on metal detecting and had many examples of what he has found.  He talked extensively about Relic Hunting in West Virginia.   The best bet is to ask to hunt on private property because most on the public land hunting is prohibited.  If you would be interested in going on a relic hunt, look it up on the computer at “mytreasurespont.com”.  (Be sure to enter the web site correctly, because “treaurespot.com” is a porn site.)

Marathon county prospecting ban was talked about.  See the full law later in this newsletter.

 Hello Prospecting Friends,

What a wonderful turnout we had!  Lots of chatter and hugs to go around!  Good food, good friends, and a warm place to gather in.  And having all the young prospectors there was fun.  They soon will be in our shoes sharing what we have taught them.

A Big thanks to Steve Miller for coming to talk to us.  I hope everyone took time to see the “finds” he brought in.  What I found interesting is the fact that his ‘finds” were a part of someone’s life.

And a Big “Richard always wins” and "Lucky Dave” wisn again.

Have a Wonderful family filled Thanksgiving…  Jeanne Marie Morrison – Secretary
