As I write this news letter the club president Mike Flint is at the Thermal City Gold Mine and I hope he is finding lots of Gold.
Our May meeting was on using a Sluice Box. The Sluice Box is an excellent tool in extracting Gold from material poured into it. It can be as much as 200 times faster than using a Gold Pan. The two Items, Gold Pan and Sluice Box go together well and are both very light weight and can be carried into the back Rivers and Creeks with ease.
There was a lot of interest from club members on building there own Sluice Box. We have some very talented members.
Hope to see you at the Nugget Lake Outing, June 17.
The Club will be holding an outing to Chicken, Alaska in 2007. There will be more information later about this trip.
We have over 280 members and would like to get most of the members to come to the outings/meetings/gold shows. The more the participation the better it helps the club in the future for prospecting.
Each month now is Pot Luck, so please plan on bringing a dish to pass.
“Thank You” to everyone for joining the chapter and for your support to make this club a success!!.
I can’t wait to go prospecting.
Thank you, Kurt Bublitz
